The last quarter of the year is always a mess: long days, budgeting, deadlines, surprises, you name it! The end of 2021 was no exception to this. Not that the normal hazzle would not have been enough, the global Log4Shell-exploit really broke the bank for many people working in the information technology domain. Another thing that kept Mrs. Helsing quite busy was the unpleasant fact that some parties have a habit of setting public tender deadlines just before Christmas. Have to admire their commitment! Imagine: Christmas dinner has been eaten, Santa has visited and brought the presents, everything is calm, cozy and warm – exactly the best time to start going through all the tenders which were returned before the deadline 🤪
Against all the odds, on December 22nd, we were on our way towards Lapland where we spent the Christmas time this year. After all the hurry and stress, the short trip to the middle of nowhere was exactly what our family needed.
For the past one and a half weeks, we have been focusing on our well-being and so far this is working great. We both feel good and a lot more energetic. Now the challenge is to keep this focus once the holiday is over and the juggling begins again.
